Disco Balls, Dream Cars & Senior Photo Magic
Senior year is kind of a big deal — so why settle for senior pictures that look like everyone else’s?
Alivia, a proud graduate of Queen Creek Virtual Academy, brought major personality to her senior portrait session. She loves vintage style, music, bold fashion, and cars, so we planned a session that showed off every side of her personality — from classic cap and gown portraits to a red Mustang, disco ball glam, edgy outfits, and nighttime city lights.
This is exactly why creative senior portraits are so much fun! When we build the session around who you are, your photos feel more like a celebration and less like something you’re just checking off the graduation list.
Starting with Classic Cap and Gown Portraits
We kicked off Alivia’s session with a classic: cap and gown portraits. There’s just something about starting with that iconic graduation look — it gives the session a milestone feel right away and gives everyone a chance to settle in before we move into the more creative ideas.

Alivia absolutely rocked her cap and gown with effortless confidence. Against the brick wall backdrop, the images had that “I did it” energy every senior deserves before graduation.
Behind the Scenes: Planning the Perfect Senior Session
Before her session, we met in person (of course) and talked about everything that makes Alivia Alivia—her love for music, vintage fashion, and of course, her dream of working in the automotive industry. That planning time helped us build a session that was completely tailored to her personality.
We chose Downtown Gilbert for the vibrant, urban daytime photos and Chandler for those moody, after-dark vibes. Every prop, outfit, and backdrop helped tell a part of her story.

Creative Senior Pictures with a Red Mustang
When Alivia told me she loved cars, I had my fingers crossed for something cool—and ohhh did she deliver! Her cherry-red Mustang convertible rolled in with a custom “Hottie” plate and some serious attitude. As soon as she stepped next to it in her sleek black outfit, the confidence and pride just radiated off her.

This car isn’t just a ride. It’s a symbol of her future career in mechanics, her independence, and the kind of bold, powerful energy she brings to everything she does.
And fun fact: her favorite movie is Fast & Furious—which makes total sense, considering her love for speed and fearless spirit.

If you’re thinking about bringing your ride to your session, don’t miss these car senior photo ideas for girls—from Mustangs to pink Corvettes, these sessions seriously shine!
Late Night Glow Up? Absolutely!
One of my favorite shots from Alivia’s session is this dramatic, eye-catching image of her in a bold red dress under glowing night lights. The scene? A parking lot with blurred taillights and just the right touch of flash for some editorial vibes.
She looked amazing—and yes, the red was inspired by her favorite candy, Kit-Kats! That pop of color, the confident pose, and the styling? Straight fire.

Music, Fashion & Disco Ball Energy
As a music lover (hello, Sublime fans!), Alivia wanted to tie in her rock-inspired vibe. So naturally, we ended her session with disco balls. Yep—against a bold red backdrop and lit by parking lot lights, she posed like a rockstar and totally owned the moment.

And here’s the kicker: this shot was taken at the very end of her session in front of a brick wall! Proof that you don’t need fancy settings to create something truly unforgettable. The creativity keeps going right up until the final click!
Her Style, Her Way
If you’re into fashion with edge, this next look is a vibe: an off-white mini skirt, a classic black Ed Hardy tee, and her go-to Doc Martens. Alivia is all about thrifting and making her style personal—and it shows. She brought major model energy to the camera while still keeping it casual and true to herself.

What Happens After the Shoot? No Homework for Mom!
After your senior session, you won’t be stuck sorting through files or figuring out where to print. Alivia’s family—who also had me photograph her older brother Aidan—knew they wanted artwork that matched their previous collection, so we created:
✔️ A custom image box with double-sided prints
✔️ A personalized cover featuring Alivia’s name and graduation year
✔️ A storyboard that shows off her tassel shot and six more faves
✔️ A USB drive and mobile app for easy sharing and safekeeping
It’s all about making your life easy and giving you options that look great on your walls and on your phone.

And this wasn’t even the whole session! Check out the senior video to see the full gallery, from glam to grunge, disco balls to dreamy dresses.

Creative Senior Portraits Q&A
Can I bring a car to my senior pictures?
Yes! Cars, trucks, Jeeps, and other vehicles can add so much personality to senior pictures, especially if your ride is part of your style, hobbies, or senior year story. We’ll plan the location, outfit, posing, and lighting so it feels intentional instead of random.
Can senior pictures include props like disco balls, instruments, or sports gear?
Yes, absolutely! Props can make senior pictures feel more creative and personal when they’re chosen with purpose. Disco balls, instruments, sports gear, letter jackets, books, pets, and favorite accessories can all work beautifully when they match the senior’s personality and the overall session vibe. In fact the disco balls are part of my exclusive Senior Style Closet!
Do Queen Creek seniors have to take pictures in Queen Creek?
Nope! Queen Creek seniors can choose locations throughout the East Valley depending on the look they want. Some sessions stay close to home with desert or rustic backdrops, while others use downtown areas, colorful walls, water, or nighttime city lights for more variety.
