The origin story (of ya girl)

The journey of my hair …

I was born in Gilbert, Arizona. When I was around 8 my family and I all moved to California where I pursued a career in Acting and modeling. Until we moved back to Arizona for my dad’s work (I was 14). When I moved back I told my parents I wanted to go to a regular school instead of online school which I’d been doing since Middle school. I transferred to a public high school my sophomore year and I graduated in May of 2017! In case you were wondering, I’m Mexican, both my mom and my dad are Mexican (My mom is part Irish). I have 2 older brothers and a fluffy dog named Laika! My family is full laughter, sarcasm, and really good food. I met Michelle through mutual friends and immediately hit it off! Since then we’ve become good friends and I’m always down to help her out!

Fun things about me (maybe)

Besides having a professional background in acting and modeling I also enjoy Art. One of my favorite things to do is to go to art museums with a good music playlist and walk around! Other than being an artist on the side I’ve always had a passion for writing. I’ve always got new ideas for poems, novels, or short stories! I love reading H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allen Poe, and Lewis Carroll, anything out of the ordinary and exciting! Scary movies and paranormal based YouTube videos are an obsession. I also love to sleep which makes me bad at replying to people! Exploring places and having Adventures is something I’m always down to do! One of my favorite forms of art is tattoos and I’ve been obsessed all my life with them! I was the first one family to get a tattoo! I got my first one when I was 17 after years of begging. It’s for one of my brothers that passed away a long time ago. The second one I got was when I was still 17. It’s a nickname my mom calls me. I love tattoos and I can’t wait to get more! I can’t sit still for too long or I’ll get bored (unless I’m sleeping)! I love changing my look up or adding to it. Like getting different haircuts, hair colors, tattoos etc.!

My beautiful fluff!

What I’m doing right now (mostly sleeping)

Currently, I’m going to a local Community College then transferring to a 4-year university. I’m working towards getting my B.A. in Creative Writing! Getting my degree in this gives me the freedom to do a variety of things I like doing, I could use it to help become a journalist, novelist or a lyricist to name a couple. What I’m going to minor in is still under debate. Recently I went back into the tattoo shop (now 18) to get more ink. Currently, I have 16 tattoos, they’re all on my upper arm. I went with my brother and he got his first Tattoo while we were there! I still love to model! Professionally, I usually shoot with Michelle (as you can probably tell), I also do some shoots for fun with my friends/family! Both usually give me awesome pictures to post on social media!

I hope you guys enjoyed getting to know me more! I’ll be writing more often so stay tuned!

Top 6 Fall Fashion Trends | Outfit Ideas for Senior Pictures

Fall Fashion Trends

  1. Burgundy
    • The color Burgundy is not only one of my favorite colors but a perfect choice for the season leading up to Christmas! The color gives off a nice a cozy vibe. Something you would want to curl up with a cup of tea or cocoa while you watch some movies.
  2. Metallics
    • Metallics are an interesting a fun choice for the fall. Silver metallic boots are the rage this season and definitely add a fun little something to your outfit. It’s a good addition when you want a little bling but not look like you’re going to the Met Gala! Or you’re a tween who just discovered sequence!
  3. Retro Vibes
    • Though Retro Items have been in style forever this season especially takes its nod to the retro styles. Things crop tops and high waisted jeans and shorts. This season many Aesthetically pleasing pictures on media contain a cropped top or sweater paired with high-waisted bottoms! I good way to keep casual but also show off what your mama gave you! I definitely love participating in this trend!
  4. Oversized tops/sweater
    • One of my favorite trends in this fall that never goes out of style is a good oversized sweater! The versatility! You could wear it as a dress, with some shorts, jeans or leggings! The options, graphics, and styles what give it the classic go for cozy casual or cozy chic. It all depends on how you style it!
  5. Velvets
    • I’m not saying you gotta go out and get the expensive velvet! There are plenty of velvet items you can get affordable! Like a pair of velvet booties (Which are very popular right now), You can find them for a good price if you look hard enough! If velvet boots aren’t your thing then maybe a velvet hat? I got a red velvet baseball hat from Forever 21 for 7 dollars! Whenever I wear it out I always get compliments. This trend is the fuzziest by far!
  6. Boots/booties
    • This trend is always in but it really takes the cake during the season of Halloween and Thanksgiving! Shorter boots (known as Booties) are extremely popular, especially when they are sequined, suede, or a glossy leather look. As for the longer boots, thigh-high velvet boots are super popular right now, they give off and fun and glamorous vibe with just a hint of retro! Those boots are definitely on my wishlist to pick up ASAP!

Favorite Shows To Binge On Netflix | Phoenix Senior Photographer

Favorite Shows To Binge On Netflix | Phoenix Senior Photographer

Looking for a good show to binge on Netflix?  Check some of these out!

  • Friends

Ah yes, the instant classic everyone loves! It’s always my go to when I want to binge a good classic. Friends ran from September of 1994 to May of 2004, almost exactly ten years! It’s a fun 90s sitcom that revolves around a group of 6 friends and the adventures (sometimes drama-filled) they go through in life. Not only is it extremely funny, it’s also got deep moments that make you happy for the friends you have (that are basically family). Also, who doesn’t love looking back at the fashion, makeup, and hairstyles that were all the rage in the nineties! It’s got 10 seasons and around 20 episodes each season, perfect for those weekends you don’t want to leave the bed … or the couch! This show is a nostalgic gold mine!

  • Leverage

Personally, I’ve binged this show more than I can say! In fact, I’ve got it on right now! Leverage is definitely one of those shows that were gone too soon. It ran from December of 2008 to December of 2012. Leverage is a show about a gang of thieves who turn into good guys and take down corporate villains to help out the citizens they wronged. Every cast member has a specific role to play: a mastermind, a hitter (the muscle), a hacker, a grifter (professional liar), and a professional thief! The show has 5 seasons and each season has around 15 episodes. The show itself is full of excitement, action, and heartfelt moments. I definitely recommend this show it’s witty, exciting and very feel good!

  • The Good Place

This show is adorable and funny! It’s got some of my favorite actors in it too! This show started just last year and is now starting its second season. It’s centered around a girl (Eleanor) who dies and is accidentally placed in heaven, or as this show calls it “The Good Place”. The show has 13 episodes in this season, it shows what happens when someone is misplaced by the crazy things that happen there. Throughout the first season, Eleanor tries to become a good person to stop the horrible and crazy things that are happening in “The Good Place”. The ending of the season has a crazy plot twist that will make you want to see what happens next! The show is cute, funny and adorable, they also make it appropriate for all ages to enjoy!

  • Gilmore Girls

My mom is my best friend, which is why I love this show so much! I used to watch it with her all the time. It aired from October 2000 to May 2007. The show stars a single mom (Lorelai Gilmore) and her daughter (Rory Gilmore) and a host of other family and friends. The main idea of the show is about dealing with the changes of life being a single parent and a child of one. It’s a very female positive show with great witty writing and lots of heartfelt advice. It shows the changes women go through in life and how to overcome them. The show has 8 seasons and recently came back for a short ninth season! Each season has This show is a great feel-good series that really makes you happy for your and other friends and family you have. A great one to binge if you want to laugh, feel good, and cry (of happiness and sadness).

  • Bones

This show has everything! Crime, comedy, and love…  The show itself is about a group of forensic anthropologist and an FBI agent that teams up with the anthropology to help solve cases. Aside from the usual crimes that happen in crime TV shows this one is different. From their unique and funny interns to the close friendships and relationships that blossom during the show; the main characters themselves are what make the show stand out. They’re all different in their own way and work seamlessly (most of the time) together to bring criminals to justice. The character development is astounding and fun to watch. The show ran from September of 2005 to January of 2017. They’ve got 12 seasons and each season has got around 10 to 20 episodes so there’s a lot to watch! Definitely a good one to binge!

Five Tips for Amazing Senior Pictures | Phoenix Senior Photographer

Five Tips for Amazing Senior Pictures | Phoenix Senior Photographer

5 Tips to Make Your Senior Pictures Amazing!

I loved taking my senior pictures! Especially with Michelle, every shoot I do with her is a blast! It’s very exciting to finally be done with the chaos and drama that’s high school and move onto better things (like work or school or both). Here are 5 tips that I’ve learned throughout the shoots I’ve participated in.

  1. BE TRUE TO YOURSELF

    The perfect homemade prop!

    • Being true to yourself is one of the most important things when doing a photo shoot. Especially when they’re your Senior pictures! Make sure that the shoot will fully represent you and your personality! It might be fun to try something different but you don’t have to change everything you like for a shoot that’s supposed to be about you. Enjoy what you like and show it off!
  2. PROPS!
    •  Props are one of my favorite things to use during a shoot! Some pictures Michelle took of me were with an old phone that we both loved! It instantly gave the picture the retro vibe we were going for! Having props is a ton of fun but just make sure not to over do it! Just a couple should do the trick! Also don’t be afraid to bring homemade things as props! I made this amazing flower crown that we used for a couple pictures and those ended up being my favorites!
  3. KEEP IT SIMPLE
Phoenix Senior Photographer takes senior pictures for girls in Downtown Phoenix.

A simple outfit that looks great!

    • When picking out clothes (Which is the hardest step) you should to talk about it with your photographer! That way they can make sure it’ll look good when photographed. You may want to rethink that white shirt or that crazy print shirt you have. Bring lots of solids to mix and match with a couple prints! Some prints might be too intense so choose your prints wisely!
  4. BE PREPARED AND BE FLEXIBLE
    • Though number 1 says that you should always be true to yourself and to your style, that doesn’t mean that you shouln’t go outside the box sometimes! Maybe the way the photographer wants you to pose seems a little awkward but it’ll look amazing in the photos! Now, having said this, it’s still important to remember that what you’re comfortable and not comfortable doing. If something really makes you uncomfortable don’t feel like you need to do it! Your senior pictures are about you!
  5. HAVE FUN!

    Have fun! Be yourself!

    • Having fun during a shoot can sometimes be hard with the constant moving (or not moving) and the outfit changes. But it’s definitely something so vital to a good shoot!! Not only will the photos seem more fun and genuine, they will be! Music and bonding can always help this! Don’t be strangers with the photographer! Talk! Make jokes! Make memories!

By following these tips, shoots are fun and easy! Working with Michelle is so much fun! We’ve got so many jokes and memories that shooting with her is exciting and she always makes sure that I stay true to my own style! So, strike a pose and have fun!

Five Winter Activities in Arizona

  1. Zoo Lights
    • This is definitely my favorite place to go to during the winter. I’ve gone the last couple years and every year it’s been a blast! I love to bring my camera and get some good pictures! Wandering around, with friends admiring the lights and making new memories! It takes place at the Pheonix Zoo, dates, times, and prices are all online! Be sure to check because on a certain day the price is lower than others! I love going here and I’m already planning with my friends on going again! They even have a light show with all of the lights that are timed to different holiday songs! This is a must-do for me and I always recommend it!
  2. Ice Skating
    • Ice Skating is a fun opportunity to do something that you normally don’t think of when you think of something fun to do in Arizona! However, Arizona actually has many skating rinks throughout the state! Some are even outdoor rinks! Many vary in prices but the experience is fun and exciting! Then you can tell people you went ice skating in the desert!
  3. Hiking
    • Living in the desert there isn’t much snow! Unless you want to drive up north to places like Flagstaff. Something fun and active to do during the winter would be to hike! Which I think every Arizona resident has done at some point. What makes the difference is the snow! You don’t have to wake up extremely early to get a good hike in before you melt from the heat. Plus the scenery gets 10 times better with snow draped over everything! Just make sure you dress appropriately and be sure to take advantage of the perfect photo opportunity!
  4. Illumination Symphony Of Lights
    • This is something I’m definitely going to go to this year! I heard about it from my brother and it sounds absolutely magical! You can drive through this extreme light show timed with music! You can also park and get some food! Pricing can be a little expensive depending on what your budget is but I think it’s worth it! It’s about 30 dollars for up to 8 people traveling in one car. This amazing light show takes place in Phoenix and is available every night starting at 5:30 every night until January 14! You have to visit their website and select a time slot for driving through the amazing exhibit! I plan on going with some friends in the next coming weeks!
  • Nowhere (Stay Home)!!
    • Ah yes, my favorite option! Cost effective and comfy! Who doesn’t love enjoying cuddling up by a warm fire with some hot cocoa and a good movie! A perfect way to do something when you don’t really want to leave the warmth of your place! Get some friends together and make it fun! Or maybe a significant other and enjoy the cuddles! Even by yourself, you can still enjoy a fun, relaxing night in!
