Mesa Senior Photographer for Red Mountain High School
As a Mesa senior photographer, I get to meet lots of high school seniors but I’m not sure I could love a senior more than Alli!!! She’s just my kind of girl. Sweet, giggly, gorgeous, and tons of fun! Alli will be graduating from Red Mountain High School in just a few weeks, so she wanted something special for her senior pictures. We started in Downtown Mesa, and what I love about this area is it can be grungy and urban, country chic, or sweet and vintage! It works very well for senior portraits and when you have a girl with an awesome variety of outfits and a ukulele, you just can’t go wrong! Her beautiful floral dress was sweet and comfy, and while I usually love girls with lots of shoes, most of Alli’s pictures looked best when she was barefoot. Hey, I never said you would stay clean during your senior pictures! Arizona is dusty and I often find myself sitting or laying on the ground to get just the right angle. The uke on the front steps of the Sirrine House was just so fitting and showed off Alli’s fun personality, which I’ll never forget! I don’t believe in limiting my clients, so we squeeze in as many outfits, looks, and locations as possible to give you the very best variety. So once we were done in Mesa, we headed to Gilbert for some more gorgeous pictures.
Modeling Tips for Amazing Senior Pictures
Teen girls are always so hard on themselves. My goal during senior photo shoots is to show them off with many different expressions. Alli and her mom both agreed that this gorgeous black & white image makes her look like a model! It sure does!!! You’ll get tips to be sure you look and feel fabulous for your senior pictures!
Alli had the chance to try out some of our new accessories including jewelry and hats from Charming Charlie! Over the years the accessory collection has grown to include a small trunk, lots of hats (loooooove hats!!!), fun jewelry, scarves, and whatever else I can find that will make senior pictures that much more fun!
As if Alli wasn’t already rocking her session, next comes the Disney obsession! If you’ve known me for any length of time, you know that our family loves all things Disney! So Alli’s darling Minnie Mouse shirt coupled with iconic Disney ears was already perfect…but then the red shoes! Absolute perfection and again, a great way to show off her fun loving personality!
Reveal Night and Product Design
Next comes Alli’s Reveal Night, which is every photographer’s dream! We watched her slideshow and mom was near tears watching as her baby girl was getting closer to graduation every day. One of my primary goals as a professional photographer working with teens and pre-teens is to bring out the confidence, let them see their inner and outer beauty, then create keepsakes that will remind them how special they are to their family. So to hear Alli squeal in delight as she was able to see for herself, how truly stunning she is! Like most seniors, she was a little nervous, but with just a little guidance she was a natural in front of the camera! Yes, we had her singing, dancing, and laughing, which in person might seem a little odd, but WOW!!! When you see the results it makes all that silliness worth it!
We worked together to create a customized package which met all their needs. It included this beautiful new wooden image box filled with double sided silk prints and two bamboo stands. So now her family can swap out images and have lots of choices on which pictures they want to display! Hearing Alli squeal in delight while opening her packages and seeing beautiful face just gives me chills! Mission accomplished! Happy mom, happy teen, and one very happy photographer! Please excuse the low quality cell phone pix, but that smile was too great not to share!
Every high school senior brings something different and unique, which is one of the reasons being a Queen Creek senior photographer so amazing! But Krista, who will be graduating from Queen Creek High School, was especially different bringing her color guard props and unique skills! I was amazed just watching her toss the flag and rifle so high…and catch them flawlessly every time! We were lucky enough to have beautiful lighting and perfect weather. We headed out to the Riparian Preserve in Gilbert for her session and she chose some lovely colors for her outfits. Her long, beautiful curls will make anyone envious! There was water in the creek and in a few other areas which is a special treat for us here in Arizona. Quite often it is just dry beds full of rock, so I made sure to get images of Krista in the water as much as possible! She was a real trooper, actually wading into the water for a few shots! And then, just when I thought our session couldn’t get any better, along came the ducks! Yes, they nearly came right up to Krista! Amazing!
Color Guard Senior Pictures
Ah yes, so you move to AZ and there isn’t a color guard at your high school? No problem! Just start your own! And that is exactly what Krista did at Queen Creek High School. She brought her flag, sword, and rifle for some very unique senior pictures! If you’re on Pinterest, this image comes up quite often for creative senior pictures!
Wading in the Water
Who says you can’t have senior pictures taken in the water in Arizona? If you know the right locations, there is plenty of water to wade in! Krista’s simple sundress was perfect for a few quick pictures in the water. Even though it was warm outside, the water was still pretty chilly! But she was a champ and she got some great images as a reward!
I’ve been a Chandler senior photographer for quite a few years now. In fact, this is my 7th year offering senior portraits and graduation pictures! I have to be honest, this session made me nervous. Logan is graduating from Perry High School in Chandler. Shelley had texted asking for just a quick, easy session for her son’s senior pictures. In my mind I heard “he really doesn’t want to do this, but I want him to, so just get done as soon as possible!” That could not have been further from the truth! Logan is one of the most easy going, laid back, senior guys I’ve ever worked with for senior pictures! They requested downtown Chandler, and preferred more urban images, and even though much of that area is under construction, we found some great locations! Sadly, due to all the rebuilding, I’m not sure what will remain in the coming months, so I was glad we took advantage while we could! One of my favorites is the graffiti wall, of course. The colors are perfect for any high school senior who likes that fun, urban look! We also found a cool metal door, and of course some rustic brick areas. This session also proved why we often choose weekday instead of weekend sessions. Man, was it busy! And that was during the week!!! We walked through a few great spots to capture Logan at his best! We caught is true personality, before he heads off to NAU in Flagstaff for college!
Just Be You and Bring Your Everyday Look
What do I remember most? I remember Logan’s hat! Often when you’re learning the “rules” of photography, you lose track of what is really important…what your client really wants! In this case, the regular, everyday look for Logan includes that hat, and mom said that is how they’ll always remember him. That, as a photographer and a client, is what it is all about!
Custom Graduation Announcements
We know how stressful it gets as graduation approaches! That’s why we make everything as easy and stress free as possible! At your Reveal & Design Session, we’ll take the time to design all of your products, so once you leave there are no more decisions to be made! All of your products will arrive in about 2 weeks, and all you need to do is show them off! These custom graduation announcements show of Logan’s favorite image, and mom’s too! We were able to customize everything to use it for their open house celebrating Logan’s graduation.
Graduation Gifts and Keepsakes
Another great graduation keepsake are these storyboards. They make the perfect gift for grandparents, showing off not just 1 simple 5×7, but several of their favorite images! The custom storyboards come with two mounting options. You can choose a mounted storyboard which comes on 2mm black styrene or a gallery portrait which has a 3/8″ beautiful black beveled edge. Both come ready to hang or display on an easel.
Downtown Chandler with Red Mountain High School Senior
I had talked with Spencer’s mom, Julie, a few times prior to his senior portrait session. She has some equipment and knowledge about photography, but sometimes it really is easier to hire a professional. Spencer had a tight schedule between classes at Red Mountain High School and his track practice, but we managed to find a late afternoon to take him out to some great Chandler locations for his senior pictures. We started out downtown in order to get some cool urban shots. One of Spencer’s requests was graffiti, so I made sure we squeezed that in before heading to the train tracks. We were lucky enough to have even more graffiti on the trains that day, so it was just perfect! Then we headed to Tumbleweed for some more rustic images where we could catch Spencer’s amazing smile and also give him a chance to show off his cowboy boots. I was thrilled with the results when his final gallery had all of the great locations and everything from urban to rustic in one photo shoot! We don’t like to rush, so we make sure there is time for multiple locations and outfit changes so your gallery will be unique. Congratulations, Spencer!
What do I remember most? I remember Spencer getting out of the car and my first thought was “yes, I’m definitely going to need a ladder!” Only to be told that Spencer is not even the tallest person in his family!
Gotta Love a Great Headshot
And oh those eyes!!!! I know this image would melt any mom’s heart, which is why it is one of my favorites for senior guys!
Senior Pictures at Tumbleweed Park
This old truck is a favorite of many senior guys and no matter how many times I use it, the results are always different! Every guy has his own take on clothing and expressions, making it a unique addition to your senior portrait gallery! Spencer’s serious gaze in this image made the perfect editorial black & white picture!
And then again, our unique processing allows the true, gorgeous colors to just shine!!!
High School Senior Pictures: A Memorable Experience
Most guys that are graduating from high school say they don’t want a full senior portrait session. But they really do, they just want it to be fun and not like the typical portrait session you’ve probably imagined! Or maybe you’ve had a portrait session that was rushed and stressful. When we take the time to get to know you, we can capture amazing moments, real laughter, and create beautiful images your family will love! After all, you know you’ll always be her little boy, so make Mom happy and let’s remember this once in a lifetime senior experience!
Rustic Senior Pictures
I love boots and they fit so perfectly with Spencer’s personality! Not only do we take many pictures of you, but we also make sure to get some great detail shots! They work great as accents for metal prints or storyboards and they make the perfect backgrounds for graduation announcements, albums, and senior magazines!
These same Chandler locations are very popular for graduation pictures! Even though the sessions take place in the same areas, your senior pictures will be unique and we’ll be sure to showcase your talents and individuality! Donovan was very passionate about soccer, so we made sure to have him bring his gear. Mom wanted some beautiful pictures to remember this once-in-a-lifetime achievement. Our goal is create timeless portraits that will make your senior photo shoot memorable and create fun keepsakes that everyone will love!
These metals are a stunning way to showcase your high school athlete! This is a shaped metal print (shown by the outline) and has a metal easel So it is easy to display in your home or office. At your pre-session consultation you’ll be able to see samples of shaped metals and our other signature products.
Since graduation, Donovan’s mom, Julie, has moved. So I asked her to send a picture of the metal displayed in her home, and even though his senior pictures were taken nearly 4 years ago, the pictures are in her living room and she shared this with me. The shaped metals come standard with an easel on the back, but as another alternative, the easel can be folded in and the metal storyboard looks beautiful displayed in an easel that matches your decor!
Downtown Chandler Senior Pictures with Soccer Player
It is very rare that I’m nervous about a senior portrait session, but I have to admit I did have a few butterflies before Donovan’s session. He wasn’t very interested in having pictures done, but was willing to make his mom happy. I know better than to try to convince a teenager, but once I mentioned bringing his dog and his soccer gear things got better. He is a master on the soccer field, even though he doesn’t play much anymore due to injury. It is always more fun for me when my seniors are doing what they love…after all, it comes naturally to them! So I was ecstatic to capture some great shots of Donovan showing off his soccer skills, loving his dog Spyro, and hanging out at the railroad tracks. With some serious time management skills we even made it over to shoot some images at Tumbleweed Park in Chandler! I was amazed…4 locations in just about 2 hours! Mom admitted that she’s typically not very emotional, but even she started to tear up a little when she saw these final images. Every photographer’s dream is to make families happy. Mission accomplished!
Knowing how important our furry family members are, this storyboard feature his favorite senior photos is a beautiful keepsake for your high school senior. So go ahead, bring your furry family member along for your senior pictures! We love dogs!!
